The number of families at Woods is 113. The total number of volunteer hours recorded during the Fall 2008 semester was 1,490. Of the 113 families, four are reported as “new” and there were no hours were recorded. New families are included in these statistics and the number of volunteer hours assigned a value of zero. The median number of hours was nine, meaning that half of the families volunteered more than nine hours and half of the families volunteered less than nine hours. The average number of hours recorded is 13 and is higher than the median because of the families recording more than 50 volunteer hours. Removing these four “high” families lowers the average number of volunteer hours recorded to about 10. There were 59 families, or 52%, who recorded less than 10 volunteer hours. The minimum required volunteer hours per family per semester is 10. There were 30 families (26%) who recorded zero volunteer hours. |

Opportunities both inside and outside school will enable inclusion of parents with a variety of schedules. · Lunchroom/Playground Volunteers Parents are invited to eat lunch with their children and accompany them to the playground for recess. · The Middle School Band will go on a school tour Tuesday, May 20th. One or two parent chaperons are needed. We will be gone most of the school day. Please see Mr. Clouser if interested. · Lego Sorters A family (or families) is needed to sort and straighten Lego Robotics kits |
