Parent Contract/Volunteer ActivitiesEducation is a partnership between student, parent, school, and community. The partnership between parent and school at Woods Learning Center is unique and is an essential component of the learning experience at the school. Your compliance is necessary to ensure that your child receives the quality of education to which he or she is entitled. Compliance is also necessary to ensure that the staff is able to provide that same quality education to each student at Woods Learning Center. Recording Your TimePlease remember to record your volunteer time. The volunteer hour log is under the sign-in sheet at the front desk. There are instructions on the front of the log book. Volunteer OpportunitiesOpportunities both inside and outside school will enable inclusion of parents with a variety of schedules. ¨ Lunchroom/Playground Volunteers. Parents are invited to eat lunch with their children and accompany them to the playground for recess. ¨ Staff Appreciation Lunch Helpers. Prepare a dish for monthly Staff Appreciation Luncheons. Contact Lisa Tunison at 473-8088. Next luncheon is scheduled for April 24. ¨ Staff Appreciation Lunch Coordinator. Description: Once per month, coordinate a lunch at WLC for staff. Duties: Select a day for the lunch in collaboration with WLC staff once each month. Make a menu. Recruit volunteers to make or bring food for the staff on the day and time scheduled by phone and email. Time Requirement: 1 hour per month ¨ Fundraising Coordinator. Description: Coordinate fund raising with PTC Board to finance PTC projects. Duties: Identify fund raising opportunities in collaboration with the PTC Board. Recruit volunteers to lead specific fundraising efforts. Report efforts and results to PTC Board at least once per month. Time Requirement: 2 hours per month ¨ Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels Drivers |
