The WLC PTC supports and promotes communication between home and school, bringing these into a closer relation so that parents and teachers may cooperate more fully in the education of the child. The PTC initiates or sponsors projects having as their ultimate aim the improvement and enrichment of the Woods Learning Center school environment for all students. The PTC encourages parental involvement in all aspects of the school community and acts as a liaison between parents and school faculty.

PTC Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 3:30 pm
Attending: Marci Miles, Kate Maes, Doug Tunison, Sally Mosier
Treasurer’s Report: $465 in checking, $5316 in savings; Rendezvous dunk tank raised $157 (rental cost was donated).
Rendezvous: consensus is Rendezvous a success, suggested improvements for next year include starting earlier and having a definite, announced ending time.
Parent Concerns: request for a review of the guidelines for school newsletter submissions, request for clarification of eligibility requirements to participate in after-school sports in 6th/MS.
Staff Concerns: staff fund-raising requests include a scholarship fund for extended field trips; discussion of proposed donation of vending machine gun safe for raffle/fundraising - Kate to clarify specific questions with potential donor.
Back-to-School Night: Thursday at 6:30; agenda includes staff introductions and roles within WLC administrative structure, PTC has 15 minutes immediately before breakout sessions at 7:00, request stressing volunteer expectations and specific opportunities available; PTC to provide snacks.
