The WLC PTC supports and promotes communication between home and school, bringing these into a closer relation so that parents and teachers may cooperate more fully in the education of the child. The PTC initiates or sponsors projects having as their ultimate aim the improvement and enrichment of the Woods Learning Center school environment for all students. The PTC encourages parental involvement in all aspects of the school community and acts as a liaison between parents and school faculty.

Treasurer’s Report: no report was presented; bank statement should arrive this week
PTC Nominations/Elections: Doug Tunison for president, Sally Mosier for Secretary; no other nominations have been received; ballots will go out in the Friday Folders for 3/19.
Staff Input: Drama Club will start the week of 3/15, details will appear in this Friday’s newsletter.
League of Democratic Schools Regional Meeting will be at Woods 3/25-3/26 with observing Circle Groups and a dinner on the 25th, other school visits and the business meeting on the 26th.
Salsa: due to funding, Señora Womack will be done for the school year in mid-May.
Back-to-School Round-Up: consensus was to stay with the round-up format for a back-to-school function; concern with attendance of new families (especially in Primary) was discussed, as was the idea of a mentor family for new families (as an information source and contact).
Field Day: May 14 or 22, to be clarified on Friday.
School District News: Foreign language education may become an issue due to funding; this item was brought up just as an FYI.
Parent Input: Incorporating a school clean up day with the last Circle Group in May was discussed.
Volunteer Hours: 355 total now. Thanks to parents and remember to log your hours.
PTC Fund Raising: dunk tank at the Back-to-School Round-Up? Any ideas welcomed.
