PTC Corner |

The WLC PTC supports and promotes communication between home and school, bringing these into a closer relation so that parents and teachers may cooperate more fully in the education of the child. The PTC initiates or sponsors projects having as their ultimate aim the improvement and enrichment of the Woods Learning Center school environment for all students. The PTC encourages parental involvement in all aspects of the school community and acts as a liaison between parents and school faculty. |

PTC Board Meeting Minutes; July 3, 2008Present were Doug Tunison, Brenda Johnson, Kate Cherry, Sally Mosier Back to School Pool Party at Kelly Walsh pool, August 11th· Ask $1 per swimmer to offset cost of pool rental · Encourage returning families to mingle, make new families feel welcomed · Mail info/flyer to new families, email/calling tree the info to returning families contact Pam Hopkins for new family addresses (Sally to do) "Back to School Bash" booth, August 16th, 10 a.m.-3 pm· Danette Baldacci is coordinating · Games provided by MS students · Info about WLC provided to booth visitors Extended field trips revisited· Contact Pam about the data gathered at the feedback forum Treasurer's report· Fund-raising; in particular the use of the PTC account vs. a school district account (and tax implications) · Improved tracking of individual students' fundraising (i.e. a parent volunteer to detail each student's fund-raising dollars) · Staff is looking at previous years to see what has been done, what has worked PTC Board Meetings for 2008-2009 school year: tentatively set for 3:30 pm, 2nd Tuesday of the month, at WLC Miscellaneous· Continued discussion of "schools of choice" vs neighborhood schools · Monthly Parent Planning Committee is July 15th · No meeting planned for August at this time, contact will be by email/phone |
