Kindergarten Project Information

“All About Me”

Required Areas to Be Covered:

Myself -When and where I was born.  May include other little facts about themselves and their life to this point. *can include pictures of them growing up

My Family-Who are the members of my family.  Focus mainly just on their immediate family and/or members that live in their home.  Be sure to include both parents, even if they live in separate homes. *can include pictures, student drawings or other items that represent family.

My Favorite Things- What are my favorite things?  Can be food, toys, or anything else they want to include.  Can be shown with student drawings, cutouts in magazines, actual items or toys, or however you can dream to display these favorites.

My Hobbies-What do I like to do or what am I good at? (dance, sports, art)

My Future- What do I want to be when I grow up?  What are my hopes or dreams?

Visuals may include anything. They can have real pictures, student drawn pictures, magazine cutouts, or anything that gives a clue to the student on what they wanted to talk about. Standardly they are a tri-fold board with things on them, but they do not have to be.  Your child’s visual can be anything as long as the required areas are shown and talked about.  Try to think outside the box and help your child with ideas that will make their project unique and interesting.

Our Expectations for Parents:

Primary children require much parental support for all of their projects, specifically their first project.  Please remember that at this age it is the process which is more important than the final project.  We hope the entire activity is a learning process.  You are teaching your child how to plan ahead, construct ideas, and present their information to others.  Resist the urge to make this “your project”.  Talk about the required areas and help your child plan what they want to put in each area.   Have the child make a lot of visual clues on the board, this will help them remember during the presentation.   It is better if they try not to read written words off the board.

*Attached is a copy of the evaluation form we will use to evaluate your child.  This may help you see the expectations we have for your child.

We will try to help keep you on track with deadlines in our weekly Primary Newsletter.

Project presentations will start the Monday, December 1st.

Primary Project Night is Tuesday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m.  Attendance on this night is an expectation and is included as part of your child’s presentation grade.
