Spring Break, No School
Mar 15—Apr 14th: PAWS Testing Window—3rd grade only (Click here for Schedule)
Mar 18th: Research Due

Hello Families!

Thank you, Jim Kopp, for being our artist in residence this past Thursday!  Our students had a great time painting with you!

Please make sure your child is working 30 minutes every day on their project.   We are including the rubric in this newsletter so there are no surprises on Thursday, March 18th, when the research is due.

Parents of Third Graders

Thanks to everyone who is already signed up to bring in snacks!

We are in need of volunteers to help provide snacks for the PAWS on March 24th, March 31st, and April 1st.  Fresh or dried fruit would be appreciated!  Remember, you can count the time it takes to prepare a snack for volunteer hours!  J

PAWS begins when we return from Spring Break.  Only third graders participate.

Second graders will continue their normal classroom work, but they will leave the intermediate room during testing.

Third grade students need to get lots of rest and good breakfasts in their bellies before they come to school.  We have snacks planned to break up the long testing sessions.  Remember, the deadline for project research is Thursday, March 18th—the week that testing begins—so don’t let projects go until the last minute!

Please note there will be no spelling list the week of March 15th.

Our snack cupboard is getting bare.  We need each family to send in a non-perishable snack (enough to share with 34).  Hopefully this will get us to the end of the school year!

Friday, March 26, will NOT be a Pizza Day.  We have made arrangements with the Kelly Walsh kitchen to provide our students with a sack lunch. Students may also bring their own sack lunch from home.  If you wish to order a sack lunch on that day, please let Mary O’Connor, our lunch supervisor, know.

Have a fabulous Spring Break!
