Dear Families,

Welcome! We are very excited to begin this school year. We are already impressed with this group! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions and concerns you may have. You are always welcome to drop into the classroom at any time, although if we are working with students we may not be able to speak with you right away. J

A few reminders

· Music and PE are scheduled for Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Please make sure your child has appropriate shoes for PE!

· Art is scheduled for Wednesday morning, so please send your children in clothes that you do not mind getting messy!

· Pumas will go to library on Thursday mornings and Jaguars will go to library on Friday mornings. Please help your children remember to bring their library books!

· Spelling begins next week. Spelling words will be coming home Thursday night in the homework folder. The first test will be on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Water Bottles and Pillows

Students may bring a water bottle to keep at their seat—it needs to have a top that you push to close—no twist tops please, we would like to avoid spills. They may also bring a small pillow to use at read aloud and during independent reading.

Donations—Thank You!

We are sending home receipts to those of you who donated $5.00 to the classroom fund. If you donated and did not receive a receipt, please let us know and we will make sure we get you one.

Volunteer Opportunities!!!

We are in need of a few parents who are able to help out with spelling this year. We need volunteers on Wednesdays from 8:15 to 9:00 and on Thursdays from 8:15 to 9:00. Please let us know if you are interested!

The Game and Fish Expo is scheduled for September 12th this year. We are looking for drivers! We will be departing from WLC at 8:30 and will be returning by 11:30 in time for lunch. Please remember that you need to update your insurance and driver’s license at the front office! A driver form is in this Friday folder. J
