Parent Roles:

  • Sending kids to school ready to learn
  • Helping with homework/projects
  • Accountability of what qualifies as hours at parent-teacher conferences.
  • Review contract-clarification of what qualifies as hours
  • More efficient way to log hours online?
  • Additional volunteer hours that are not school day hours-i.e. weekends
  • Inform parents of more at home opportunities
  • More detailed job description especially for new parents-this could be done at the start of school
  • Ensure that new parents get in contact with a family to inform them of everything them might not know
  • Parent/child project
  • Gather a list from parents of their special skills-to benefit the school
  • Specific volunteer opportunities on pod newsletters
  • Parent Action Committee to attend school district meetings as Woods voice in our school direction.-PAC keeps parents informed of NCSD meetings.
  • Parents sign up for different months.
  • Different classrooms could try different methods to get an idea of what works.
